The European football calendar for 2025/26 is now mapped out, with the draws for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League confirmed. The new season brings familiar giants, returning contenders and debutants eager to make their mark. From historic rivalries to first-time fixtures, the stage is set for nine months of football across the continent that will shape club legacies and create fresh stories along the way.

Champions League

This is the second season of UEFA’s new league-phase format, replacing the traditional group stage. Each of the 36 teams plays eight fixtures against different opponents, creating more variety and marquee games right from September. The top eight progress automatically to the round of 16, while places nine through 24 contest the knockout play-offs.

Final Venue

The 2026 Europa League final will take place at Beşiktaş Park in Istanbul on 20 May 2026. The stadium memorably hosted the 2019 UEFA Super Cup between Liverpool and Chelsea. Alongside lifting the trophy, the winners will also secure a guaranteed place in the 2026/27 Champions League league phase if they haven’t already qualified via domestic competition.

Conference League

The 2026 Final Venue

The RB Arena in Leipzig will stage the Conference League final on 27 May 2026. A modern 47,000-capacity venue, it is home to RB Leipzig and steeped in recent tournament history. The stadium hosted five matches during the 2006 FIFA World Cup and four fixtures at UEFA EURO 2024, including the memorable 1–1 draw between Croatia and Italy in Group B.
